  • Job Description

    Tier 1 – Entry Level -



    • 18 years of age or older

    • Minimum high school diploma or GED

    • Valid Driver’s license with good driving record

    • Must be able to successfully complete a 3 mile pack test

    • Successfully pass an Oral Interview

    • CEVO Driver’s Training

    • Wildland Firefighting Classes

      • S130

      • S190

      • L180



    • Regular Attendance at the Monthly Tier 1 proficiency drills, physical agility activity

    • Not allowed to respond to incidents


     


    Tier 2 -



    • All Tier 1 Standards

    • Wildland Firefighting Classes

      • S212

      • S110

      • S131



    • ICS Training Online

      • FEMA 100

      • FEMA 200

      • FEMA 700

      • FEMA 800



    • Either EMT certification (or higher) or Firefighter II certification

    • Valid CPAT certificate

    • Regular Attendance at the Monthly MCS drills, physical agility activity

      • Special Tier 2 Training events may be scheduled



    • Able to respond to incidents in “Non Hazard Zone” capacity.

    • Able to ride along at stations


     


    Tier 3 -



    • All Tier 2 Standards

    • Both EMT certification (or higher) and Firefighter II certification

    • ICS Training

      • FEMA 300

      • FEMA 400



    • 40 Hour Haz Mat Certificate

    • Regular Attendance at the Monthly MCS drills, physical agility activity

      • Special Tier 3 Training events may be scheduled



    • Able to respond to:

      • Structure fire incidents in “Salvage and Overhaul” capacity but not actively engaged in interior firefighting.

      • Wild Land / Brush Fire incidents



    • Able to ride along at stations


     


     


    Tier 4 – Shift Qualified -



    • All Tier 3 Standards

    • Able to respond to any type of incident in “Hazard Zone” capacity.

    • Able to ride along at stations

    • Able to work shifts

    • Regular Attendance at the Monthly MCS drills, physical agility activity

      • Special Tier 4 Training events may be scheduled



    • Demonstrated proficiency in MCS evolutions
